Volunteering Opportunities
If you are looking for a constructive and heart-warming way to donate your time, becoming a volunteer for The Rainbow Paws Program is a perfect bet! We offer several different ways to volunteer, depending on the time you have available, and whether you prefer Front Line or Behind the Scenes roles

Front Line Work
Front line volunteers hit the streets, meeting with our clients at the various locations around Canberra. They distribute food, clothing, bedding, and other goods as required, and also identify those may require access to our other programs
Being on the front line requires:
Current driver's license
Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card (we can assist you in obtaining this)
Current Police check
Completion of our induction program
Sensitivity to homelessness, disability, and addiction
A genuine love for animals
Behind the Scenes
Behind the scenes volunteers operate mostly in administrative roles, but also put in time at our warehouse facility, organising and preparing stock for the front-liners.
Working behind the scenes requires:
Current Police check
Completion of our induction program
Some light to moderate lifting
A desire to improve the lives of those less fortunate
