CLIENT QUESTIONS

Who can access any of The Rainbow Paws Programs?

All programs are available to pension or health care card holders.

Are all the programs free to access?

The Rolling Tuckerbox and Street Support programs are free services available to anyone who attends one of our distribution locations or for the Rolling Tuckerbox program, who hold a valid pension or health care card. For the Code Rainbow, Snip Snip and Hotel Bookings programs, these are subsidised. The client will be responsible for a small proportion of the fees.

Is transport available if I need to take my pet to the vet?

No, the client is responsible for booking their pet into the vet and arranging transport to and from the vet clinic.

DONATION QUERIES

What type of food can I donate?

We have the policy that we will only distribute food of a quality we would feed our own pets. As such, we accept any quality brand of food. It must be in date and up-opened.

Can you pick up my donation?

Yes, we can certainly pick up any donations. Alternatively we have various drop off locations around Canberra if you find that more convenient.

VOLUNTEERING QUERIES

I would like volunteer. What are the requirements?

For frontline work, volunteers must be 18 years or older. They must have a Working With Vulnerable People Card (which we can help you obtain), a current police check, be fit and able to do moderate lifting and undergo our orientation. For behind-the-scenes, volunteers need to be fit, able to do moderate lifting, and undergo our orientation.
